RAMBAN, June 27: In continuation of the ongoing drive against absconders and proclaimed offenders, District Police Ramban achieved a significant success by apprehending an absconder who had been evading arrest since 2022.
The absconder, namely Mohd. Aslam S/O Farooq Ahmed R/O Khanpur, Nagrota, Jammu, JKUT, was apprehended from Kathua by a police team of Police Station Ramban headed by ASI Ravinder Kumar Sharma.
The accused was wanted in connection with four cases registered at Police Station Ramban, namely FIR Nos. 100/2022, 101/2022, 102/2022, and 112/2022 under Sections 188/109 IPC and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. He had been continuously evading arrest for the last four years.
The absconder was successfully traced and apprehended through sustained efforts, technical assistance, and inputs developed by the IT Section Ramban.
It is pertinent to mention that a warrant under Section 299 BNSS (formerly Section 512 CrPC) had also been issued against him by the Hon'ble Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ramban.
