5/7/2010 11:11:36 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 7: National Students Union of India (NSUI) today celebrated the success of Dr Shah Faisal, a resident of Kupwara in Kashmir, who topped the IAS examination.
A group of NSUI activists distributed sweets among students in Jammu University and adjoining colleges to celebrate marvelous success of Shah Faisal.
In a press handout issued here today, All India Secretary NSUI and incharge J&K Mohit Sharma congratulated the selected IAS officer.
For a boy who was brought up in a remote village in J&K and who studied in a government school, the achievement is really huge. Faisal sure can serve as a role model for other people and other families. He is a role model for all those who get victimized and later become terrorists themselves after being brainwashed and taught that common innocent people are responsible for his misery. He has appealed the other youth of the state to follow his example and contribute in peace and development of state.
He said that India is such a democratic set up where all the citizens, whether from Kashmir or Kanyakumari, have equality of opportunity and equal treatment of law.
He appealed to the disgruntled youth to shun the path of violence and work hard to become a part of system for bringing a change in the system and to lead the country and the state on the path of peace, prosperity and development.
State President Abdul Rashid Choudhary expressed his happiness on the brilliant success of Shah Faisal and congratulated him. He also declared that NSUI would very soon organise an impressive function to honor Dr Shah Faisal.
Choudhary advised the student community to follow the foot notes of Dr Shah who has brought laurels for the state. He further said that it is high time that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir state must work hard to take charge of the state for bringing peace and development.
State General Secretary Arjun Singh Pathania said that Dr Shah's life has been a story of struggle of a strong man. He demanded that a short biography of Dr Shah Faisal should be made available to the students by the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
It is quite dramatic how he managed to overcome all the adverse situations and focused on the goal. He wished greater success for Dr Shah in future.
