| Anti-India meet in July: Washington has become hub of anti-India activities | | | RUSTAM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 29: Washington DC was never and shall never be friend of India. Ever since 1948-49, when New Delhi lodged a complaint with the UN Security Council about the Pakistani attack on Jammu and Kashmir, Washington DC has been consistently siding with the aggressor Pakistan and overtly and covertly helping the cause of the Kashmiri separatists and communalists. In fact, the unnatural formation Pakistan would have collapsed years ago and the Kashmir-based militants/terrorists/separatists would have become quite irrelevant long ago, had Washington DC not given them over and covert support and helped their communal cause.
There is not a single instance that could show that the United States has at any point of time during all these sixty years supported the genuine concerns of India in Kashmir. Nor is there any instance to show that it has ever taken Islamabad to task for exporting terrorism to India and other parts of the world. It has always overlooked the fact that Islamabad has become the epicenter of global terrorism and a threat to the world peace. On the other hand, there are instances and instances that show that Washington DC has always come to the rescue of Islamabad. Significantly, there are also instances and instances that also serve to demonstrate its very friendly attitude towards China, another India's hostile neighbour. The truth is that Washington DC, Beijing and Islamabad have been working in unison in order to weaken India and extend their geo-political interests. Each one of these hostile countries believes in the military doctrine as well as expansionism and aggressive foreign policy.
Pakistan says that India is "our natural and number enemy" and that the presence of the Indians in Jammu and Kashmir is illegal and unwarranted. Islamabad also says that it shall continue to give diplomatic, political and moral support to the Kashmiri separatists and terrorists. Pakistan, in addition, says that whatever is going on in Kashmir is freedom struggle. Its battle-cry all along has been that Jammu and Kashmir is unfinished agenda of the communal partition of India and it would not take rest until it merges Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan and take physical control over the state's three rivers - Chenab, Jhelum and Indus.
Washington DC says that Islamabad is "our trustworthy friend"; that the United States needs Pakistan's help to fight the menace of terrorism and eliminate the Taliban and Al-Qaeda; that New Delhi needs to address the Pakistani concerns and settle the Kashmir issue that satisfies the aspirations of Islamabad and Kashmiri separatists and terrorists; that if Washington DC is to succeed in Afghanistan, it has to depend on Islamabad; and that the relations between Washington DC and New Delhi were never that friendly. The United States' State Department said on Thursday that the relations between the United States and India were at no point of time really cordial.
It is a different story that the weak, ambivalent, confused and directionless New Delhi has consistently sought to befriend the canny, unscrupulous, ambitious and undependable Washington DC, whose single-point agenda all along has been to promote its own geo-political interests at the cost of others. Again, it is an altogether a different story that New Delhi has been repeatedly walking into the Americans' trap and conducting its foreign policy under the baneful American influence overlooking its own long-term sovereign interests.
As for China, it has consistently sought to humiliate India, grab the Indian territories and befriend Islamabad. It has always sought to weaken the Indian position in the north by indulging in activities which are aimed at establishing its stranglehold over the Himalayan belt. It has already captured thousands and thousands of square kilometer area of India. So much so, Beijing has been seeking to grab Arunachal Pradesh and instigate Nepal and similar other countries against India. Its relations with Islamabad are so cordial that the latter is more than willing to accommodate the Beijing's interests in the areas, called Gilgit-Baltistan, which are legitimately Indian and which are under the illegal occupation of Pakistan since 1947-1948. What China has been doing in these areas is too well-known. The story of the stapled visas issued to the Kashmiri Muslims and its from time-to-time incursions in Ladakh is too fresh to be forgotten. In fact, Beijing continues to repeat this story again and again.
This is the situation. The worst part of it is that Washington DC has not only been giving all kind of support Pakistan requires against India, but it has all along allowed the America-based Kashmiri secessionists and Pakistan and its agents in India and elsewhere to organize anti-India conferences, seminars, debates and symposiums on its soil. The situation has climaxed to the point that several US-based Kashmiri secessionists have developed connections at right places in Washington DC. One such anti-baiter, Pakistani agent and Kashmiri secessionist is Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, who heads the Kashmiri-American Council. (To be continued)
