| 21 police official to get SKPM Gallantry/ Meritorious Service Awards | | | early times report
Srinagar, Aug14: Government will award Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal (SKPM) for Gallantry to 14 police officers/officials on Independence Day, 2010, Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service (Independence Day, 2010) to 4 police officers/ officials and Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service (Independence Day, 2008) to 3 police officers.
According to a notification issued by Home department, the SKPM gallantry awardees are: Mr Aurangzed Ct No 716/AP 14th Bn, Mr Khursheed Ahmad Ct No 220/Kgm, Mr Ashok Kumar Ct No 427/AP 14th Bn, Mr Zahoor Ahmad Ct No 517/Kgm, Mr Nissar Ahmad Ct No 468/AP 14th Bn, Mr Hilal Ahmad Ct No 419/AP 14th Bn, Mr Shahid Mushtaq Ct No 585/Kgm, Mr Manzoor Ahmad Ct No 561/Kgm, Mr Mohd. Rafiq Ct No 233/AP 14 th Bn, Mr Taranjeet Singh SI ARP-046149, Mr Khem Raj Sgct No 722/D, EXJ-006703, Mr Shiv Krishen, SI No 6665/NGO EXJ-996886, Mr Abdul Qayoom, DY SP, SDPO Batherwah and Varinder Singh, Inspr No 4425/NGO EXJ-951897. The SKPM Meritorious service awardees (Independence Day, 2010) are: Mr Gopal Reddy, IPS IGP, HG/ CD & Aux Police, Mr Mohammad Amin Tak, SSP Security Transport Workshop, Mr Javed Iqbal Farooqi, SP PCR Srinagar and Syed Fayaz Ahamd Inspr No 3041/ NGO SHO P/S Pattan. The SKPM Meritor-ious service awardees (Independence Day, 2008) are Mr Sheikh Owais Ahmad, IPS IGP Personnel/ Trainings, Mr Rouf-ul-Hassan, IPS DIG Armed Kashmir and Mr Tilak Raj SI No 5565/NGO, CID, CI and Jammu.
Meanwhile 718 personnel have been awarded police medals on the occasion of the Independence Day this year. President's Police Medals for Gallantry have been awarded to 03 personnel; Police Medals for Gallantry to 141 personnel President's Police Medals for Distinguished Service to 61 and Police Medals for Meritorious Service have been awarded to 513 personnel. 20 personnel have been awarded Correctional Medal for Meritorious Service.
