I-Day celebrations continue on second day

Jammu , Aug 16: On second consecutive day reports of the Independence day celebrations continued pouring in .
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), Northern Region Transmission System-II celebrated the day at Grid Bhawan, near Bahu Plaza with gaiety and enthusiasm.
S K Sharma, General Manager (Projects) NRTS-II unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Meena Sharma, president Shrishti Mahila Samiti Powergrid Jammu, senior officials, employees, their families and children.
On the occasion, Mr Sharma asked the youth to always remember the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and learn lessons from them. He stressed upon the employees to work unitedly to achieve the goals and objectives of the Corporation.
A cultural programme was also organized on the occasion and Mr Sharma gave away prizes to the winning participants. Stanley Mathews, Chief Manager (HR) presented vote of thanks.
Independence Day was celebrated Sanatan Dharam Higher Secondary Kanya Vidyalya (SDKV), Jullaka Mohalla by hosting flag with great pump and show.
The Programme started by hosting National Flag by Sanatan Dharam Higher Secondary Kanya Vidyalya President Sham Lal Churamani, Prof. B R Sharma. The entire programme was supervised by Secretary M L Vidyarthi, Treasurer Sat Pal Singh Rathore, and Kuldeep Sharma.
The function ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal Sushil Sharma.
Nirvana academy a cultural club organized Sangeet Sandhaya at Aarohi Kala Sangeet Vidhalaya on the occasion of celebration of 64th Independence Day President Nirvana Academy Hitesh Badyal commenced the proceedings of the programme with the welcome speech. He congratulated all the members and children Happy Independence day and also distributed gifts among the participants. A Group Song in Dogri “As Dogre an akhne an shaane kanne” was performed by the performers of Aarohi Kala Sangeet Vidhalaya. Gunjan sung a patriotic song “Eh mere vatan ke logo”, which was highly appreciated by the audience
The NMC with the collaboration of traders of Mahalaxmi temple Pacca Danga celebrated 63th Independence day as a SANKALAPADIWAS. In this connection a colorful function was held at Pacca Danga chowk where a large numbers of people from difference communities participated prominent social activist Rajinder Kumar (Raju) presided over the function while president of the national Mazdoor Conference President Subash Shastri was the chief guest on the occasion. Dushyant Sharma was the guest of Honour. NMC chief Subash Shastri unfurled the national flag. Addressing the function Shastri highlighted the imporantce of the Independence Day and our duties towards the nation. Paying rich tributes to the martyrs who scarified their lives for the Independence of the country and the right of the public.
A grant function was organized in connection with celebrations of Independence day by the locals at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk Jammu wherein a large number of people participated. Various leaders spoke on the occasion and threw light on importance of Independence. They have urged the general masses to maintain brother hood for the integrity of the nation and peace for the Jammu and Kashmir state. While speaking on the occasion Pritam Sharma, Vajinder Singh, have appealed the government for bringing normalcy in the Kashmir Valley to prevent further loss of human lives.
JK convent School Subash Nagar celebrated Independence Day celebrated Independence Day at its school. The small kids of difference age groups given the music, dance and kids performances which enthrall the audience on the occasion. Flag was also hosted by the chief guest Dr. Sudhir Mahajan a prominent theater activist.
Independence day was also celebrated by All J&K Kashyap Rajput Sabha Moti Bazaar Jammu celebrated with great Zeal and favour. The senior member of the Sabha Rattan Lal hoisted the national flag in the Sabha premised in the presence of Rakesh Kumar President and other bearers of the Sabha and children were also participated. The participants the on amide singing of national anthem. The president exhorted the participants to follow the path show by great national leaders, who scarified their lives to give the freedom.
Janata Dal (United), Jammu and Kashmir State President S. Inder Mohinder Tar Singh hoisted the Tricolour Flag on the eve of 64th
Independence Day amidist slogan chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Hindustan Zindabad followed by the National Anthem.
The day was celebrated with fervor and gaiety, sweets were distributed among a large gathering present at the party headquarter.
Tar Singh addressed the gathering and recalled the sacrifices made by thousands and thousands of known and unknown freedom fighters. Also recalled old memorable days of struggle which laid the foundation of a n independent India. Rich tributes and homage was paid to the highly revered freedom fighters who struggled for over a century to get rid of the shackles of slavery.
As a part of Independence Day celebrations, a function was organized by Indira Nagar Shopkeepers Association in the market , where in S.Ujjagar Singh unfurled the national flag amidst singing of national anthem.
Besides the shopkeepers of the bazaar, their children and family members along with the residents of the area were also present on the occasion. Raj,Steel industries,Singh Hardware,Soodan store,Singh Hardware ,Naresh kumar,Panch Harjeet Singh,who graced the occasion.
Later sweets and refreshment were distributed among all those present on the occasion.
Guru Ravi Dass Convent School, Jaswan too celebrated 64th Independence Day in school premises . Retd ADG, Convenor of the society , Kesar Singh was the chief guest on the occasion who unfurled the national flag . While addressing the gathering , Kesar Congratulated the people on Independence day and recalled the sacrifices of the great martyrs who laid down their lives in the freedom struggle.
Govt Higher Secondary School Jullaka Mohalla has celebrated Independence Day with great zeal and patriotic enthusiasm.Principal of the school Davender Kour along with Staff members hoisted National Flag amidst National Anthem and remembered the supreme sacrifices of “National Heroes” who had laid their lives for nation.
Davender Kour gave short address to the gathering and congratulating all on the Independence Day besides threw light on the importance of this day.
Vijaypur Block congress committe celebrated I-Day at Vijaypur. Ex-Minister S. Manjit Singh was the chief guest on the occassion. Ex. Minister manjit Singh along with Disst president Prakash sharma and block president Capt Amarnath hoisted the tricolour. several other party leaders along with more than one thousand workers were also participated in the programme.
The 64th Independence Day Celebrations were celebrated with great enthusiasm in the premises of Govt. High School Kundra Tehsil and District Reasi which is situated at the top of a small hill. Rajinder Singh Thakur was the honorable Chief Guest on this occasion that hoisted the National Flag amidst the chanting of National Anthem. A variety of cultural programme was also presented and tributes paid to the martyrs of the freedom struggle. Prominent Dogri Poet/Writer and the member of Dogri Sanstha, Jammu was also present on this occasion thatfacilitate about 70 students who performed well in the activities through out the year by giving them Certificates.
Bahrat Vikas Parishad ( BVP) Jammu East today celebrated Independence day in the premises of Bal Niketan , Ved Mandir . The tricolor was hoisted by Amar Chand Gupta , President Ved Mandir Committee along with the Gopal Sharma , President BVP Jammu East accompanied by a number of members executives of BVP and Ved Mandir Committee . The children of the Bal Mandir presented a march past .
Alexander Memorial School, too celebrated 64th Independence Day at school premises. State commissioner cum secretary, Bharat Scouts and Guides , ID Soni was the chief guest on the occasion . The function was also graced by several high dignitaries, Principals of the renowned institutions and parents .
Banyan International School celebrated its 63rd Independence Day with full enthusiasm and ecstasy in the School premises .The Celebration began with the address to the school by the worthy Principal of the Banyan International School. The School Students participated in the cultural programme and the national song. A group song was also presented by the teachers of the school.
Ajit Singh Wazir, Chief Sports Officer( Retd.), J&K State Sports Council and now designated as the Bursar of the School, under whose guidance Banyan International School hopes to flourish further and become the pinnacle of city. The ceremony was also presided over by worthy principal and whole administrative staff. The celebration was concluded with an ovulation to the National Anthem.
