Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary celebrated as “Sadhbhavna Day”

Jammu, Aug 20: The Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was celebrated as “Sadhbhavna Day” by the Congress party in the state.
Several functions were held at various places in the state while the main function was held at the party headquarters, Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu.
The function was organized by the Pradesh Congress Committee in which all senior functionaries of the PCC, DCC Jammu and frontal organizations including Youth Congress & INTUC were present.
Speaking on the occasion senior leaders of the party remembered the services of Rajiv Gandhi for the nation during his short stint in politics. They described him a great visionary leader who articulated the policies for 21st century and due to whom efforts and vision India is today leader of the world community of nations in the field of information and computer technology.
“Again it is the contribution of Rajiv Gandhi to introduce Panchayat Raj Sysytem in the country by way of 73rd & 74th amendment in the Constitution. He ensured full participation and share of Women in the governance and in the party,” the party leaders observed.
The youth Congress leaders recalled his contribution towards involvement and promotion of youth in the country and his decision to lower the voting age from 21 to 18 years.
The leaders appealed to the people especially youth to follow the path shown by Rajiv Gandhi and maintain peace tolerance and religious brotherhood in order to strength the nation on the path of secularism.
The Pradesh Youth Congress leaders and activists led by AIYC general secretary Arminder Singh, PYC president Shohaib Lone took out a rally which culminated at PCC HQ after which they joined the main function of the party.

L. Gupta, Chaman Jain, Bharat Gandhi-ex-MLA, Shiv Dev Singh-ex-MLA, Baldev Sharma-ex-MLA, S.S.Shingari, D.S.Langeh, B.B.Gupta, Mansa Ram, S.Gurdarshan Singh, V.K. Sethi, Lalita Sharma, Raj Bakshi, Mian Zazir Ahmed, Keshavanad, M.M.Handa, Uttam Singh, Satish Sharma, Narinder Gupta, Amit Chib, Neeraj Gupta, Manjit Singh Jatt and others.
NSS volunteers of Government Degree College for Women Parade, today celebrated Sadbhavana Divas, on the birth anniversary of former prime minister, Late Rajiv Gandhi.
The principal, Dr. Kiran Bakshi along with faculty members, and students in large number of the college participated in the occasion to take the Sadbhavana pledge.
All present, on the occasion determined, vehemently to follow the footprints shown by revered prime minister and spread the message of communal harmony national integration and brotherhood. The information technology, Akshay Urja, e-Governance, being the need of the hour have o be promoted for the national development as per words of our late prime minister.
JK Montessorie Senior Sec. School celebrated 66th birthday of Rajiv Gandhi with great enthusiasm. Sologan competition organise on this occasion. The theme of slogan was peace in this world. They prepare colourful slogan as a puppet, pigeon and cartoon. They gave message on peace through this slogan. Class Ist to 12th participated in this competitions. Managing Director Mr. Sanjeev Gupta & Mrs. Rajni Gupta also grace the occasion. Best slogans get their Ist, IInd & IIIrd prizes. Managing Committee distributes prizes among winners.
Sadbhavana Divas was celebrated today in the premises of MIER College of Education by the NSS Unit. Dr Renu Gupta Director & Principal MIER College of Education, Dr Adit Gupta Joint Director and Vice Principal, Dr Surinder Kaur, along with all the faculty members were present on the occasion. A lecture was organized on the topic “Achievements of Late Prime Minister Sh. Rajiv Gandhi in Educational Field: Introducing New Education Policy & Technology in the Field of Education”. The resource person for this lecture was Dr. Ira Bhan a senior lecturer in the M. Ed Deptt. A pledge to remain united was taken by all the faculty members and the NSS volunteers on the occasion. A patriotic group song was also presented by the NSS volunteers. Dr. Renu Gupta along with all members interacted with the volunteers in formally over a cup of tea. While addressing the audience, she also appealed to the youth to come forward and spread the message of goodwill , cooperation and harmony which is the need of the hour. Poonam Soni (NSS Programme Officer) proposed a vote of thanks in the end.
Congress Seva Dal J&K too observed the 67th birth anniversary of Late Rajiv Gandhi .
Balvinder Singh Sambyal state Chief organizer Congress Seva Dal was presiding over the function high lighted role ofRajiv Gandhiji for the young youths of country as well as Panchayati Raj and especially for information technology. B.S Sambyal said that Rajiv Gandhiji was only great Prime Minister of India among the galaxy of Indian Prime Minister’s since Independence Rajiv Gandhi would shine in the annals of history as a person who achieved success at home and unparallel fame abroad in short span of time.
The district congress committee kathua organized a programme at its district head office to celebrate the 66th birth anniversary of former prime minister of India late. Rajiv Gandhi. On the occasion the member of legislative council Sh. Subash Gupta, gen Secretary S. Bhupinder Singh (Pinku), chairman of district congress Seva Dal S. Ravinder Paul Singh(Neetu), senior congress leader Master Lal Chand, Pawan Sharma and Narinder Sharma along with other activists paid their holy tributes. They said that the Rajiv Gandhi was the most successful prime minister of India who ever stressed upon to strengthen the secularism and democratic mind set of the every person of the country.
To observe Sadhbhavana Divas J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized a multilingual Mushaira in which the poets recited their latest poems. The Mushaira started with the welcome address delivered by Savita Bakshi who in her welcome address highlighted the role of academy in promoting art, culture and languages.
