JMCC for promoting peace, brotherhood in Jammu region | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 9: The Jammu Muslim Coordination Committee (JMCC) has reiterated its resolve to make all out efforts for promoting mutual brotherhood, co-hensiveness, co-existance, peace and tranquility in the Jammu province. Addressing the first ever press conference after reconstitution of JMCC its new president, A G Kohli said the very motive to float this organization in 2008 was to maintain smooth coordination amongst the people of various religious, castes and shades irrespective even of their political affiliation or sub-groups they belong to. He said Muslims of Jammu region amongst whom there is a sense of deprivation for their constitutional, economical and social rights for the last 60 years should be supported by their Non-Muslim brethren of Jammu region to get their rights in all spheres with some concrete steps from government side as well, particularly in recruitment for services. Anwar Chowdhary general secretary of the organization observed that thousands of Muslim families of Jammu who have stayed in Jammu itself during the 1947 holocaust, but wrongly have been entered as evacuees and their landed properties have been entered as evacuee properties thereby depriving all those families of their right to property, alleged Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed. The committee have demanded a special package of recruitment for the unemployed Muslim youths in Jammu province. It also demanded nomination of Muslim representatives from those district which remain unrepresented in both houses of State. It was also demanded that ever since the eruption of militancy in the State and cross border firing thousands of Muslim families have been badly affected and uprooted from their homes and hearths should be provided compensation at par with other migrants and affected people of the State. The members of committee also extended Eid greetings to each and every one in the State and have prayed for peace and normalcy in the State. Among other presented in the press conference were Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed senior vice-president, Suhail Kazmi spokesman, Abdul Aziz Qureshi, Amir-ud-Din Kassana and other office bearers.
