All is not well with 'inner party mood' of PDP
High Command promoting only 'corporate entities'…..?

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 23: PDP high command may well be celebrating what its supporters have been terming as party's success to maintain 'political edge' over the ruling rivals in projecting the picture of Kashmir before political elite of Delhi but its strategy has not augured well with its inner party 'frame'. All is certainly not well with the party in so far as the temper and mood of its internal hierarchy is concerned.
Sources within the party said that senior leaders are not quite happy with the high command the way it has been projecting and promoting only a couple of people in its major decisions activities and sidelining the ones who are considered to be heavyweights and stalwarts in the political spectrum. While this disgruntlement has been brewing up for quite some time, it augmented further when the party president Mehbooba Mufti announced what has been perceived as 'politically wrong' composition of the party delegation twice, first during the All Party meeting convened by Prime Minister at New Delhi and three days later when the All party delegation arrived in Kashmir.
While the main faces apart from Mehbooba herself during the prestigious and high level meeting at New Delhi included Moulvi Iftikhar Ansari and Altaf Bhukari, the composition for discussion with APD in Kashmir was more or less with an addition of one more leader Dilawar Mir. While veteran politicians Ansari has played his political innings, no matter on different wickets, Bukhari has yet to establish his political credentials in the complex field of Kashmir. He is not even a leader in reckoning within his own party, leave alone his recognition among the masses of Kashmir. However, Ansari and Bukhari are affluent in terms of their widespread business ventures. The fact also remains that both Ansari as well Dilawar Mir have made 'opportunistic entry' into PDP only few years back after they enjoyed their 'innings' with NC.
Sources said no one has raised objection to any such moves and decisions of the high command that have given a sense and message that senior leaders of the party have been pushed to wall, but the latter, most of whom are among the founder members of the party have been viewing with concern this as promoting 'corporate entities'. This has also led to apprehension that high command has started 'tactics' which amount to promoting corporate culture within the party instead of giving boost to political ideologue in a big way, sources added.
The feeling is percolating deep down the cadres as well who are feeling isolated and ignored by the high command in projecting only a handful people and sideling those who have conceived the party. Pertinent to mention here is that old guards Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Tariq Hamid Qarra, Abdul Rehman Veeri and many more were conspicuous by their absence from all the recent high level political meetings.More than their isolation from such vital political activities, most of the senior leaders having conviction and commitment for the party are concerned over what they feel that PDP which has been founded with a political purpose is being 'highjacked by an interest group' and the fact whether some committed leaders are themselves maintaining distance or ignored by the high command has begun to dilute the agenda of the party as well, sources maintain.
Sources also maintain that there has been a feeling being nourished by cadres down the line that if such state of affairs continues in the party , it will no longer remain a cohesive nor a homogenious group ,not even one with minimum harmonious relations , instead a completely new outfit, the implications of which will certainly not be in good taste for the high command.
