Students boycott classes, seek separate CU for Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 11 : The JJSF’s call for boycotting the classes remained successful with most of the students staying absent from the colleges and those present in the colleges showed their anger by taking part in the protests in various colleges of city The protests were staged in MAM PG College, GGM Sc College, GDC Paloura, SPMR College of commerce, GGM evening college.
Early in the morning, the students of MAM PG College boycotted their classes under the leadership of JP Singh & Dilbag Singh. After boycotting their classes, all the students gathered at college premises and raised slogans against the state and centre government for playing with the sentiments of the people of Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, Thakur Varinder Singh said that after a series of protests by students, a separate CU was sanctioned for Jammu but till date the whereabouts of the CU for Jammu is not known and even VC of this CU has not been appointed.
In GGM Sc College, students boycotted their classes & showed their anger. The protest was led by Sanjay Sharma, President GGM Sc College and Mohd. Arif.
They he said that the administration always try to dominate the genuine demands which are raised by the student community by showing their strength of police force. Later, the students lodged peaceful protests but the administration had deployed a huge police force to combat any untoward situation.
In SPMR College of Commerce, the protest was led by Vishal Sadotra, Rahul Sharma & Vikram Partam Singh. In the college, students were addressed by Amandeep Singh smf alleged that the discrimination is still going on with Jammu. He also alleged that J&K had got two CUs one at Jammu & other at Kashmir. In Kashmir valley CU has started its first session under the guidance of VC but the visible discrimination with Jammu region is appeared in this form that till date VC is not appointed, functioning is not in process for the CU for Jammu.
In GDC Paloura, students showed their anger during the boycott of their classes. The protest was led by Rawat Manhas & Sumit Gupta. In this college students were addressed by Rawat Manhas. He said that during the protests launched for the establishment of CU in Jammu, JJSF was the only organization who had raised the voice for the right. But the MLAs, MPs , MLCs & ministers of this region had shown their weakness.
Pushvinder Singh Manhas (President JJSF) said that this agitation is not an agitation which will end with the acceptance of one or two demands but will continue until and unless Jammu region gets its full & final solution
He demanded immediate appointment of the Vice Chancellor for the CU of Jammu as all other CUs sanctioned by the center have started their functioning which showed that the states as well as central govt. were least concerned about the sentiments of the people of Jammu region. He said that center has announced eight point formula Kashmir region in which it is mentioned that central govt. is paying Rs five lakh to those who are killed in Kashmir valley during the anti national protests but they knowingly ignored those martyrs who laid down their precious lives during the protest of Amarnath land row. He said that this formula can never be accepted by the people of Jammu as there are lots of points in this formula which are against the interests of the nationalist forces.
Singh further lambasted the Chief Minister of J&K state for his anti-national remarks which he spoke during his speech in the assembly. He demanded the immediate removal of CM as he has no moral & constitutional right to stay on the prestigious chair of CM.
He said that this agitation will not be suspended until & Unless the above mentioned demands are fulfilled & JJSF will leave no stone unturned to get these demands fulfilled.
He further appealed to the people of Jammu region in general and ministers, MPs, MLAs & MLCs in particular to support the on going agitation of the students to finish the tradition of discrimination with the Jammu region by the state as well as central Govts once for all.
Others present in this protest were Mohd Ashraf, jyoti choudary, Yogesg Talwar, prince sharma, Micheal, Vishal Sharma, Moninder Singh, Ankit Gupta, Nitin Gupta, Ankur bali, Balak ram chib, Mohd Zaman, Tushar Raina etc.
