JAMMU, Oct 24: To mark the 127th birth anniversary of of Late Pt. Premnath Dogra, hundreds of BJP activists assembled at Dogra Chowk rotary to take part in the havan and pay floral tributes to Sher-e-Duggar.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, while paying tributes, said that Pandit ji gave up a very lucrative career as an officer of the State and joined the national cause and dedicated whole life for the cause nation building and nation strengthening. ``We all should take pledge to follow and spread his principles and ideology as also to make people aware of his role as a true nationalist in the state. We should not forget the role of Pandit ji in persuading Maharaja Hari Singh to accede to Indian Union,'' he said .
Leader of BJP Legislators Party Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta recalled Pandit ji's pivotal and stellar role in the famous and historical struggle of the nationalists during 1952-53 agitation. He said that it was Pandit ji who was the fountain head of planning and organizing the epoch-making agitation of achieving Ek Vidhaan-Ek Nishaan-Ek Pradhaan. This agitation under the able leadership of Pandit ji changed the political and historical discourse of the state. Later, halwa and sweets were distributed among the gathering.
