Services inflicts humiliating defeat on J&K

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 20: Services registered an outright win against Jammu and Kashmir beating latter by an innings and 127 runs in the Ranji Trophy Plate Group-B tie played at Harbax Singh Stadium, Delhi today.
Following on to Services mammoth first innings total of 453 runs for seven declared, J&K could not control their nerves and the whole side bowled out for 154 runs in 54.4 overs in the post lunch session.
As per the reports reaching here, J&K resumed their innings from overnight score of 57 for two and lost third wicket in the shape of Asif Jeelani (18) at 68. However, Hardeep showed some resistance to the Services bowlers and kept the one end intact. His sensible innings were cut short when Tahir Khan run out this turbaned wicket-keeper batsman at 40 with score on board 149.
Playing with Hardeep, Raman Dutta stunned the Services bowlers with his brilliant innings of 49 runs coming off mere 38 balls and both together added valuable 60 runs for the ninth wicket stand.
In fact, the middle order collapse casued J&K’s early dismissal when five batsmen failed to touch the double figure mark and of them bowled on duck. J&K lost three wickets at same score of 77.
For making it an outright win, Services secured six points.
Now, in the remaining two matches, J&K shall take on Andhra Pradesh and Vidarbha in Jammu with first match starts from December Ist.
