Symposium on computer literacy day organised | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 2: To commemorate the world Computer Literacy Day, the BCA Department of Govt. M.A.M. College today organised a symposium on "Impact of Computer Education in the present era". Prof. (Dr.) Dev Anand, HOD of Deptt. Of MCA, University of Jammu was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Ajeet Angral, Principal of the college lauded the efforts of the BCA deparment for organizing the function and exhorted the students to imbibe modern technical skills that are imperative for opportunities in the global competitive market. He also informed that a one month long computer awareness programme has been launched for local fund workers of the college to make them computer literate. Prof. Angral adviced the local fund workers to take maximum benefit of this opportunity so that they are well placed in future. The keynote address was delivered by Prof Sujat Ali Khan, Head of the department who deliberated on the need of computer education. Prof Khan assured full cooperation in spreading the computer awareness among the computer illiterates. Total 10 students participated in the symposium. Tanvi Bhargav, Gurleen Kaur and Bhanu Sethi were adjudged first, second and third respectively. Prof. Y.P. Kundal, Prof. Raj Singh Narainya and Prof. Banpreet Kaur were the jury members. Prof. Vijay Kumar has delivered the vote of thanks and Asim Aftab compered the proceedings of the programme. |
