| Jodhamal School celebrates annual day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 17:Jodhamal Public School celebrated its 6th Annual Day in the school grounds here today.
This year the school chose to highlight the importance of sports in the children's lives.
Kuldeep Khoda, Director General of Police was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The guests were greeted by a rocking performance of live music from their student's rock band. "The Jolly Rockers" atop a snazzy decorated bus.
The grand event was flagged off with a stunning Olympic-style torch relay by the sports stars of school.
Pigeons and white balloons were released into the sky to mark the opening of events for the day.
March Past by the senior students led by the Prefect Council followed.
The Principal of the school, Krishna Bhati, presented the annual report, highlighting the achievements of the school in the past one year, notably the excellent result of the first batch of students who appeared for the CBSE Class X Examinations in March 2010, including perfect CGPA 10 scores from three students Erika Kasba, Antra Sharma and Bhumika Das who were awarded a Scholarship of Rs10,001. The school also added Senior Section with Classes X and XII from session 2010-11, and implemented the CBSE guidelines for Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation in letter and spirit. Students were given awards for academic excellence, as well as special achievements in the field of curricular activities and sports, for the year 2009-10.
Prograrnme concluded with a heartfelt appeal for peace from the students who assembled on the field to sing the Peace Tree Song.
Maj AK Bhattacharjee, AOC Air Force Station Jammu, Air Force Commander Nitin Sathe, Pawan Kotwal (Divisional Commissioner), Manoj Dwivcdi (Secty. Science & IT), K K (DGM State Bank of India) Vikrant Kuthiala and Nandan Kuthiala were present on the occasion.
