HBET distributes scholarships to rural girl children | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 21: Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust distributed scholarships of over Rs 2.14 lakh to 45 rural girl students residing in border areas like Akalpur, Arnia, Birpur on the first day of the scholarship distribution function. Medical check up, counselling sessions, evaluation tests are also organized for the students. This organization was established in 1997 with an objective of giving education to the children living in the rural/border areas. Selection of students was made on the basis of academic merit and financial need from various schools of Jammu Region. Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Trustee Kunil Bhalla highlighted the activities of the trust and its future plan. Vijay Gupta, President of Deaf & Dumb Association, was the Chief Guest. He shared his personal experiences with the children as he himself faced the similar problems. Dr. Navneet Gupta and Neelam Bhalla were the guests of the honour who awarded scholarships among the students & appreciated the enthusiastic step of HBET. The trust is making a noble contribution to the society by reaching out to the needy students in the remote areas & helping them to pursue their education. The trust also supports the children who are deaf and dumb by birth for their education
