Malik inaugurates employment fair | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Dec 21: The District administration Kathua has organized a 3-day long Employment Fair to create awareness among the unemployed youth of the area about various state and centrally sponsored self- employment and other credit driven schemes. The camp was inaugurated by the Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Abdul Gani Malik in presence of local MLA Kathua, Charanjeet Singh Jasrotia. The District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Zahida Khan, Addl. District Development Commissioner, Kathua, M.S. Sheikh, Deputy Director, District Employment and Counseling Centre, Natasha Kalsotra along with all district level officers and large number of people were also present on the occasion. In his address, Malik congratulated the district administration Kathua for organizing the employment fair for the general awareness of un-employed youth of the district. He hoped that the youth of the district would get detailed information about the scope and nature of the schemes and avail the same for setting up their own ventures. Referring to the Sher-i-Kashmir Employment Welfare Programme, the Minister said that the scheme under this programme offer a series of incentives for encouraging the educated youth to go for self employment. Speaking on the occasion, MLA, Kathua said that such programmes provide opportunities to the general public, especially the un-employed youth to come forward and avail the benefits of different schemes. He asked them to go for group ventures to avail maximum benefits. Earlier, Malik inspected 20 stalls put up by various departments and directed them to provide every type of information about the schemes of their respective departments so that the youth can make a better choice as per their interests and potentials.
