| Pensioners hold demonstration against govt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA 21 DEC, The pensioners and other employees organized protest rally under the banner of All J&K Low Paid Employees Association at Shaheed Bhagat Singh
Park Kathua to condemn the road map for sixth pay commission to release the dues
of employees adopted by the state coalition government.
The Association termed withholding of the gratuity and commutation of the pensioners a big blunder of the government. The protest rally was led by the Kabala Singh. The protestors raised anti government slogans while he was addressing the rally. He said the state government has adopted cruel and undemocratic means towards the rights of the employees and pensioners and this only amounted to injustice with them.Cautioning the government not to commit this blunder, the leaders urged to mitigate their sufferings and
address genuine long pending demands of the protesting employees and pensioners. They demanded release of 10 percent D.A installment in the form of cash,
release of pending dues of percent of D.A from January 2009 to June 2009, regularization of all the need based daily wagers, contractual, and Rehbar-E-Ziraat agriculture technocrats, and the village chowkidar, to return the commutation amount of
pensioners within 12 years instead of 15 years, to remove the pay anomalies of all the government clerks, teachers, class IVth employees, and to provide the government job to the one person of the pensioners family members.
