RN Bazar traders hold meeting with Sharma over temple gates issue | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Dec 21: An interactive meeting under the Chairmanship of Y.V. Sharma, President CCI was held between Office bearers and senior Members of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu and different trade organizations of Lower Raghunath Bazar, Hari Market, Bus stand, Below Gumat led by their convener Anil Gupta to discuss the ramifications of closure of Raghunath Temple gates at Hari Market side. The gates were closed 10 years back due to the attack by the militants on the temple, the members said contending that since there has been improvement in law and order situation and reduction in militant related incidents in Jammu province there is no logic, need or justification in keeping the gates of Raghunath temple closed at Hari Market side as the same is causing both inconvenience to pilgrims visiting the temple and tradeloss to traders carrying in business in their areas. It was further felt that this statusquo can be reverted back whenever the need arises. The meeting authorized Y.V. Sharma to initiate dialogue with the authorities concerned to get the gates open at the earliest so that the traders who have suffered considerable losses due to the closure of the gates are saved from further losses.
