When Jammu police earns bad name, Sunderbani PS gets ISO certificate | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 17: While police has earned a bad name for the inhuman torture of goldsmith Vishal that left him paralysed in both arms, Sunderbani police station in Rajouri has got ISO 9001-2008 certification "for working as per international standards and conformity to quality functioning." Sunderbani PS has become the second PS to get ISO 9001-2000 certificate. Reasi PS was the first to get it. One should not be surprised if the infamous police stations also get it in near future. Reason: ISO norms are simply about building and infrastructure upgradation, and streamlining character and passport verification processes, "these have nothing to do with the torture of innocent and defenceless people at police stations". So, if the infamous police stations also become ISO 9001-2008, people should not be surprised. Innocent and defenceless people are tortured at police stations so that "they confess to crimes they have not at all committed."Meanwhile, Sunderbani PS got ISO 9001-2008 certificate for "working as per international standards and conformity to quality functioning". The parameters in this regard were set keeping in view the topography of the PS jurisdiction covering more than 43 villages, most of which are very remote and without road connectivity. With this, the staff has streamlined character and passport verification processes and upgraded record building and infrastructure of the police station. It was inaugurated today by Jammu zone IGP Dilbagh Singh in the presence of DIG (Rajouri-Poonch) Rajesh Kumar and SSP, Rajouri, Anand Jain.Later, a Sunderbani PS team also visited Reasi police station to study its functioning as it had already received ISO certification. |
