Presentation Convent Hr Sec School celebrates Platinum Jubilee
Guv emphasizes balanced personality development of students

SRINAGAR, July 29:The Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School, Rajbagh, Srinagar, celebrated its Platinum Jubilee function, here last evening.
N N Vohra, Governor, was the Chief Guest at the function. Usha Vohra, First Lady, was also present on the occasion.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Celestine, Bishop of Diocese of Jammu and Kashmir, was the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor congratulated Sr. Jyoti Thomas, Principal of the School, and all her teachers, staff and students on the very happy occasion of the Convent’s Platinum Jubilee. He observed that the passage of 75 years marks a very important event in the evolution of this institution and provides an opportunity to look back on past achievements and identify the approaches for the future growth of the Convent. He hoped that this prestigious educational institution would continue to achieve sustained progress in the coming years.
Governor appreciated the management, Principal and faculty of the institution for providing befitting education to the students during the past over 75 years and expressed the hope that it will continue to endeavour for all round development of students.
Sr. Jyoti Thomas, Principal of the School, presented mementos to the Governor and the Lady Governor on this occasion. The students of the School presented a potted plant to the Governor as memorabilia of his being Chief Guest at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the School.
Earlier, on arrival at the School, the Governor and the First Lady were received by the Principal and management of the institution.
The Principal of the School in her welcome address dwelt on the past 75 years achievements of this institution in promotion of quality education.
“Rauf” and a musical extravaganza titled “Annie” presented by the students kept the jam-packed audience spell bound.
Naseem Lankar, Commissioner/Secretary, School Education, Dr. Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Chairman, J&K State Board of School Education, senior officers, prominent citizens, Principals of various educational institutions, teachers, students and their parents were present at the function.
