CB books officials, dealers in CAPD ration scam | | | early times report JAMMU, June 9: The crime branch (CB) of state police has registered a case against CAPD officials and ration dealers of Rajouri in connection with the alleged misappropriation of government ration. The case was registered under sections 409, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of RPC read with section 5(2) of P C Act. Based on a source information regarding the misappropriation of government ration by CAPD officials, a verification was conducted by CB and during verification, it was found that a huge quantity of ration lifted from FCI godown, Rajouri, had been shown fictitiously issued to some private ration dealers in excess to their authorised quota. Against the fictitiously dispatched ration, crores of rupees were withdrawn by the officials as carriage charges. On perusal of the record, it was found that ration dealers of far off areas, whose carriage charges were very high, had been fictitiously shown issued ration beyond the prescribed quota. On further perusal of the record of T S O, Rajouri, it was found that not only excess ration was issued to the ration dealers, but also double drawals of carriage charges had been made for several months between January 2009 to March 2011. CB concluded that CAPD officials had misappriorated government ration in connivance with dealers. A case in this connection was registered at CB police station, Jammu.
