More than Rs 3 lakhs withdrawn against non-execution of work | VOJ booked XEN, AE, JE of JU works Deptt, contractor | | Jammu, July 6 (JNF): State Vigilance Organization booked Suresh Sharma Incharge Executive Engineer, Akash Bhola Assistant Engineer, Virender Singh Wazir Junior Engineer of University Works Dept and Karam Chand contractor for withdrawal of Rs 3, 49, 376 against non-executed work in University Jammu. According to the FIR No 11/2012 that a verification conducted into the allegations relating to withdrawal of money against non-executed work in Jammu university has revealed that I/C Executive Engineer, AE, JE of UWD of Jammu University and Contractor Karam Chand of Gandhi Nagar Jammu, conspired among themselves and in pursuance thereof withdraw an amount of Rs 3, 49, 376/- against the work of fixing of tiles @1100 per sqmt on the first floor of the building of business school at Jammu University which actually was not executed on the ground and thus caused wrongful loss to the Govt exchequer and wrongful gain to themselves. According to the FIR that verification has revealed that Virender Singh Wazir JE prepared a fake measurement book showing laying of tiles on the first floor of the building of Business School atJammu University, knowing fully well that the tiles have not been laid and the work has not been executed. Suresh Sharma Incharge Executive Engineer and Akash Bhalla AE forwarded the wrong report of JE showing laying of tiles in the Business School. The contractor Karam Chand who was entrusted for execution of aforesaid work, actually did not executed the work relating to fixing of tiles and wrongfully claimed the amount against unexecuted work. The VOJ after completion of verification has registered a case against Suresh Sharma Incharge Executive Engineer, Akash Bhalla Assistant Engineer, Virender Singh Wazir Junior Engineer of University Works Dept and Karam Chand contractor U/Ss 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K Pc Act SVT 2006 and section 120-B RPC and started investigation of the case. According to the source close to VOJ, no arrest had been made so far in this case.
