Rajouri/Jammu, Oct 22: A three-metre-long python was captured in a village in Rajouri district after an operation that lasted for hours, officials said on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, locals informed the wildlife department about the presence of a large python in a cattle shed in Rajal village of Nowshera tehsil.
A team from the department rushed to the spot and found the python snug inside a haystack. It took the team a few hours before it could extricate the reptile and capture it.

Srinagar, Oct 22: Two women drug peddlers were arrested with more than 15 kg of narcotics in Shopian district on Wednesday, police said.
They were arrested during checking in the Melhura Zainapora area of the south Kashmir district, a police official said.

Srinagar, Oct 22: As part of ongoing measures to curb narcotics-related activities, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached a single-story residential house valued at Rs 15,44,523, with a plinth area of 1258 sq. ft. under Survey No. 498 min, belonging to Mukhtar Ahmad Naikoo, resident of Meemander Shopian.
An official said that the property has been found to be acquired using money obtained through the sale of illegal drugs and narcotics. He said the accused has been previously involved in multiple NDPS cases, including FIR No. 41/2016 and FIR No. 27/2020 of Police Station Shopian.
