14 killed ,28 injured in road accident in Poonch

Jammu, April 17 At least fourteen bus passengers were killed and 28 others injured in a tragic road accident when an ill fated bus skidded off the road and fell deep in the gorge near gagrian in Choon village in Poonch district on Tuesday morning. The mini bus bearing registration number JK12-412 was on its way from Sawjian to Mandi when it met with an accident near Sundari nallah on Tuesday morning. According to eyewitness reports, the overcrowded bus met with an accident when the driver of the bus lost control over its wheels and it rolled down a deep gorge.The condition of the road is poor in the remote hilly district and rickety fleet of buses add to the miseries of bus passengers. Immediately after the accident was noticed by local villagers in the area they sounded an alarm and alerted local police and security forces who swung in to action and lauched rescue mission.The dead and the crtiically injured were immediately moved to the Poonch hospital from where four critically injured were irlifted to Govt Medical college.
