1481 employees appointed, regularized illegally in ULB Kashmir | MC Baramulla tops the list! | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 19: 1481 ULB employees appointed and regularized illegally since 2001, a committee tasked to probe illegal appointments and regularization of services in Urban Local Bodies Kashmir has found.
According to official documents available with Early Times, the Committee was constituted by J&K Government vide order No. 103 JK (HUD) of 2021 dated 17-07-2021. The committee held a series of meetings to check the official documents.
After the perusal of records including pay rolls etc, the committee has found that about 1481 appointments and regularizations have been made in violation of rules.
The probe committee in its finding states that till 2008, there were no service recruitment rules framed by the government to govern the service cadre of the Urban Local Bodies Kashmir. It has also found that the appointments and regularization in the department prior to enactment of J&K Municipal Act 2000 were affected in accordance with the provisions of SRO 528 dated 21/10/1974 and has also continued in certain Municipal Committee/Councils even after the ena... | |

Jammu, Apr 19: Recovery of a consignment of 10 pistols has substantiated the reports that terrorists are facing a shortage of weapons so they are using pistols instead of assault rifles in terror attacks.
On Tuesday a joint search party of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army recovered 10 pistols along with magazines and bullets from the Karnah area in Kupwara district near the Line of Control (LoC). The team also recovered five grenades. According to the police, a huge cache of arms and ammunition including 10 pistols, 17 pistol magazines, 54 pistol rounds, and five grenades, were recovered from Hajam Mohallah of Taad Karnah.

Srinagar, Apr 19: Militants attacked a minority guard picket in south Kashmir’s Shopian district this morning, officials said. There was, however, no injury reported in the incident. Officials said the firing took place at a minority guard deployed at Batagund Shopian at around 9.30 am. “The fire was retaliated by the alert guard personnel, however, militants fled away from the place taking advantage of nearby orchards,” a police official said. “There was no loss of life or injury reported,” he added. Srinagar, Apr 19: A grenade was lobbed towards a police installation in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday evening, according to the police.
No injuries were reported in the attack, the police said.
They said militants targeted the Budgam Police station at 9.15 pm and lobbed a grenade which exploded outside the gate.
“Alert sentry fired upon the terrorists but they managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness,” a police officer said.

JAMMU, Apr 19: Though the J&K administration had given a go-ahead for the regularization of 12,000 daily wagers of the Power Development Department (PDD) a few months ago, the beneficiary employees are still waiting for the process to roll on.
