Polling pattern all set to disturb Mehbooba's apple cart
Her attempts to appease Pak stooges don't yield any results
4/23/2019 11:34:02 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 23: Polling pattern in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday indicated that the Peoples Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti, may have to face an uphill task in next two phases in the same constituency. Mehbooba is contesting her seventh election from south Kashmir. Till date she has contested six elections from here. She had won all the elections but this time around it seems that chips are not in her favour. Her desperate attempts to lure the voters by acting like a separatist and emerging as a "cheer leader" for Pakistan seems to have not worked. Many people believe that Mehbooba was banking on the votes she would have got from the Jamaat cadres and others with separatist leanings in south Kashmir but her "calculations have not fallen at place." "Her loyalists, who were mostly the followers of Pak agents, seem to have ditched her this time. As a last ditch attempt Mehbooba on Monday, just one day before the polling day, tried to convey it to the separatists that she can also be the spokesperson of Pakistan to appease them. Her sta...

4/23/2019 11:33:42 PM
Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 23: South Kashmir is no more considered bastion for the Peoples Democratic Party. This was seen on Tuesday when voters of Bijbehara virtually rejected Mehbooba Mufti and did not come out to vote. Spanning over four districts-Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama, and Shopian- with 16 assembly segments, the first part of polls in restive south Kashmir Lok Sabha constituency went to the elections on Tuesday. The Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency will go to polls in three parts. Part 1 was held on Tuesday. Unlike the previous elections, Mehbooba Mufti seems to be on a sticky wicket. Mehbooba made her maiden entry in the Parliament in 2004, by defeating her rival Nation...
