Jammu, Apr 23: Polling pattern in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday indicated that the Peoples Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti, may have to face an uphill task in next two phases in the same constituency.
Mehbooba is contesting her seventh election from south Kashmir. Till date she has contested six elections from here. She had won all the elections but this time around it seems that chips are not in her favour. Her desperate attempts to lure the voters by acting like a separatist and emerging as a "cheer leader" for Pakistan seems to have not worked.
Many people believe that Mehbooba was banking on the votes she would have got from the Jamaat cadres and others with separatist leanings in south Kashmir but her "calculations have not fallen at place." Jammu, Apr 23: The low performance of government schools in comparison to the private schools in the Class 8thexamination could be attributed to the policies of Education department, according to which the students of government schools have to appear twice in board exams but their counterparts in private institutions have to appear only once.

BARAMULLA, Apr 23: The Line of Control (LoC) on Monday evening opened for a sort of emergency crossing when two residents of Kashmir were permitted to cross even as the route is closed for almost eight weeks now.
The window is closed for civilian traffic in wake of the damage to the Kaman Bridge that connects Kashmir with Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK).
