Jammu, May 23: The Ramzan ceasefire announced amid much fanfare in Jammu and Kashmir is losing sheen in the face of fresh spate of violence and ceasefire violations taking toll in the state.
Five civilians including a minor boy and a woman were killed in Pakistan's unprovoked ceasefire violation in Samba sector of J&K. Over 30 persons including 5 BSF personnel have been injured so far.

Jammu, May 23: Son of a sitting J&K cabinet minister who was earlier seen as chief guest at various functions on behalf of his father has crossed the limits of misusing his father's position.
In the latest incident, the 'pampered' son of the minister summoned a gazetted officer to his residence, sources told Early Times.
They said the newly inducted minister in the Mehbooba Mufti-led cabinet has given so much privileges to his son that the latter summoned a gazetted officer of a department which falls under the portfolio of his father.

Srinagar, May 23: Succumbing to the pressure of its alliance partner, the BJP has purportedly decided not to raise demand for creation of new districts in the state.
The BJP had been supporting the agitation in Nowshera area of Jammu division for the creation of a new district. The state government, on March 9, had announced new posts of ADCs to work on rotational basis in Nowshera, Sunderbani Kalakote and Kortranka areas in an attempt to defuse the crisis.
