| Jammu observes bandh; warning signal for BJP ahead of ULB, Panchayat elections | | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: A near total bandh was observed in many parts of Jammu region against the installation of pre-paid electricity smart meters and the collection of toll tax at Sarore Toll Plaza on the Jammu-Pathankot highway.
The call for the Jammu bandh was given by the Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) and supported by all social, political, and trade organizations except the BJP.
Although the BJP opposes the collection of toll tax on the road which is in a deplorable condition due to ongoing widening work on the highway, the party has maintained a distance from today’s bandh call.

Srinagar, Aug 26: Security forces on Saturday arrested three militant associates of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) during separate operations and recovered arms and ammunition in Jammu Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Bengaluru, Aug 26: ISRO on Saturday said two of the three Chandrayaan-3 mission objectives have been achieved while the third -- in-situ scientific experiments -- is underway.
The national space agency headquartered here also said all the payloads of Chandrayaan-3 mission are performing normally.
“Chandrayaan-3 Mission: Of the 3 mission objectives, demonstration of a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface is accomplished. Demonstration of Rover roving on the moon is accomplished.
