Jammu, Aug 31: The Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra remained suspended for the sixth consecutive day on Saturday as restoration work continued on the landslide-hit track in Trikuta Hills, even as Northern Railways arranged special trains to ferry stranded pilgrims from Jammu and Katra.
While regular train services in the Jammu division remained disrupted for the sixth straight day due to misalignment on Bridge-17 between Kathua and Madhopur, Northern Railways announced three special trains from Jammu Station to New Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata to clear passenger rush.

Jammu, Aug 31: In view of the relentless rains, landslides, and flood-like conditions across the region, the Directorate of School Education, Jammu (DSEJ), on Sunday announced that all government and private schools in the division will remain closed till September 1.
The step has been taken to ensure the safety of students and staff amid widespread damage caused by inclement weather.

Jammu, Aug 31: The Jammu-Srinagar national highway remained closed for fresh traffic for the sixth consecutive day on Sunday as efforts to make the vital road trafficable were hampered by incessant rains and fresh landslide, officials said.
