| GMC Jammu secures 105th rank nationally in IIRF 2026 rankings | | Achieves overall index score of 804.25, records impressive performance across all evaluation parameters | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 8: Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu has added another milestone to its illustrious journey by securing the 105th rank at the National level, 2nd in State and 33rd in North Zone in the International Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) 2026 rankings amongst 823 medical colleges which participated across the country. The institution has achieved an overall weighted index score of 804.25 out of 1000. IIRF is a non-governmental organization that publishes annual rankings of higher education institutions. The IIRF is based in India and aims to provide evaluation of academic institutions worldwide. It is registered under India’s Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The institution recorded an impressive performance across all evaluation parameters, securing 133.50 marks in Teaching, Leaming Resources and Pedagogy, 134.45 in Research Outcome, 138.58 in Innovative Medical Infrastructure, 135.00 in Social Inclusion, 129.00 in Future Orientation, and 125.00 in External Perception. The performance reflects the institution’s sustained focus on academic excellence, research, innovation, inclusive growth and quality healthcare delivery. The achievement has been attributed to the dedicated efforts of faculty of Government Medical College Jammu, whose strategic initiatives have significantly strengthened the institution’s academic, research and healthcare ecosystem. Dr. Sindhu Shanna, senior faculty member from department of Pathology was instrumental in coordinating with all faculty members, collecting all relevant data and submitting on the IIRF portal. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal & Dean expressed satisfaction over the recognition and congratulated the faculty members, resident doctors, students, nursing officers, paramedical staff and all employees of the institution for their unwavering commitment and collective efforts. He said that the achievement is the result of teamwork, dedication anda shared vision of excellence in medical education, research and patient care. He reiterated that Government Medical College Jammu remains committed to continuously improving the quality of medical education, expanding research activities, strengthening patient-centric healthcare services and creating stateof-the-art infrastructure in accordance with national and international standards. He further expressed confidence that ~e institution will continue its upward trajectory in future rankings through sustained efforts and collective commitment The recognition in the IIRF 2026 rankings stands as a testimony to Government Medical College growing national stature and reflects its unwavering commitment towards academic excellence, quality healthcare, innovation and research.
