Jammu, Aug 10: Three suspected drug peddlers, including a 17-year-old boy, were apprehended along with heroin in Samba and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Monday. The teenager was intercepted late Sunday evening while travelling on a motorcycle from Balole Khad towards JDA Colony in Bari Brahmana area of Samba, a police spokesman said.
During checking, police recovered 3.36 grams of heroin from his possession, the spokesman said, adding the teenager was apprehended while the contraband item along with motorcycle has been seized.
A case under various sections of the NDPS Act has been registered against the teenager, who was subsequently produced before the competent authority and was sent to the observation Home at R S Pura, Jammu, the spokesman said.
In another case, the spokesman said police arrested two narcotic smugglers and seized 23 grams of heroin from their possession during checking at Galak in Billawar area of Kathua district late Sunday.
He identified the arrested peddlers as Pawan Dev Singh of Majalta (Udhampur) and Naresh Singh of Makwal-Ramkot (Kathua), and said a case under the NDPS Act was registered against them. |
