Kulgam, February 12
Divisional Commissioner, Mr. Basharat Ahmad reviewed arrangements being made for creating infrastructure needed for setting up government offices and other necessary services for the newly constituted Kulgam district here today.
He was accompanied by MLA, Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Chief Engineer, R&B, Chief Town Planner, Nodal Officer, Kulgam and senior district officers.
Mr. Basharat Ahmad also inspected the model for administrative complex and residential quarters for district officers.
Later, Divisional Commissioner in a joint meeting of district and tehsil officers announced that the new district would start functioning from April 1. 2007. He directed the Nodal Officer, Kulgam to identify the land for construction of administrative complex and submit the proposal within 15 days to pave way for release of funds.
He also instructed the concerned officers to streamline the distribution and supply of basic amenities viz, power, safe drinking water and food grains.
MLA, Kulgam urged upon the district administration to speed up the de-limitation work of the newly constituted district. |
