| Rs. 69 lakh distributed under SW schemes | | | Kupwara, February 12
An amount of Rs. 69 lakh was provided by Social Welfare department to beneficiaries under various schemes in Karnah Sub-Division upto ending January 2007.
This was informed at a meeting of concerned officers convened by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Karnah here today. Under Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS), Rs. 34.76 lakh were distributed among 3000 destitutes and orphans of the Sub-Division.
Similarly, Rs. 29 lakh were provided to 270 old age persons under National Old Age Pension Schemes. Likewise, under National Family Benefit Scheme, 40 beneficiaries were covered with an assistance of Rs. 4 lakh, besides pre-matric scholarship to the tune of Rs. 1.34 lakh was disbursed to 700 students of weaker sections. |
