| 2 LeT militants arrested, one surrenders | | | Budgam, Feb 12 Budgam police claimed to have arrested two belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit during last twenty four hours, while a militant Commander of same outfit active in Lolab area of Kupwara district in North Kashmir also surrendered before police here today. Superintendent of police, Budgam told News Agency of Kashmir that on specific information, a Police party apprehended two LeT militants from outskirts of the town. The arrested militants, he said, were identified as Hilal Ahmed Mir son of Abdul Razaq of Chak RoodiKhan, Sopore and Mohammed Iqbal Najar son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din of Nowpora Sopore. He said that the arrested militants were involved in giving logistics support to the militants especially foreigners, adding that the arrested militants were also acting as couriers and were responsible for the recent surge in militancy related activities in Sopore. Meanwhile, another militant identified as Mohammed Asif Bhat son of Abdul Rashid of Lolab Kupwara surrendered before District Police, Budgam. “The surrendered militant was a HM Battalion Commander for Lolab in Kupwara”, a police officer told News Agency of Kashmir He added that, two AK 47 rifles, six magazines, 160 rounds, one Hand Grenade and one Kenwood wireless set have been recovered in total from all the three militants.
