Under the Centrally sponsored Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), all out efforts are being made to enhance the health, nutrition and learning opportunities of infants (0-6 years of age group) and their mothers in Khour, a rural block of Jammu district.
Integrated approach for converging basic services through community based honorary Anganwadi workers and Helpers is being adopted in the block. Presently, 189 Anganwadi centers are catering to the needs of entire population of 87,728 of the block.
During the current financial year, 51,665 beneficiary children in different age groups, 4,901 pregnant and 6,169 Nursing mothers have been covered under the program in the block.
