| Roshani act hailed across the state | | | Jammu | Feb 12 The Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee, Shahidi Chowk unit has hailed the amendment in Roshani Act, under which government land with farmers has been given to them free of cost. During the general body meeting, state secretary J&K PCC (Pardesh Congress committee) Thakur Jugal Bhandari termed it has historic decision after the “land to tillers” decision of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. He further stated that this historic and revolutionary decision taken by CM Azad is likely to benefit agriculturalists. Meanwhile, Yash Paul Khajuria, former minister and vice president PCC welcomed the passing of Roshani Bill in the assembly. While addressing a meeting of party workers at Tikri, Udhampur he said that CM has shown sincerity towards people. “Amended Roshni Scheme will especially benefit Gujjar and Bakerwals community” he added A similar meeting held at village Jinder Melu in R.S Pura under the chairmanship of S. Amar Singh, Block President Congress Committee, hailed the decision of Azad led government to confer ownership right on the state under amended Roshni Scheme. Speaking on the occasion chief guest of the meeting and secretary PCC, Darshan Raina congratulated the chief minister and said that this scheme will benefit marginal farmers including large number of SC, ST and other down trodden sections of the society. Earlier, local speakers on the occasion expressed serious concern over the bad conditions of roads, lanes and drains in the villages. They also requested chief minister to nominate Darshan Raina as MLC. Meanwhile, Vice-chairman Pahari Advisory Board and president DCC Rajouri, organized meetings at Dhan Dhar and Azmalabad to educate farmers about Roshni Scheme.
