Bovine smuggler duo held, nine bovines recovered
Kidnapped girl recovered from Mansar, kidnapper fled away

Two bovine smugglers were held and nine bovines were recovered from their possession during a naka at Lakhanpur this afternoon. A sharp edged weapon was also seized from their possession. Meanwhile, Lakhanpur Police also recovered a kidnapped girl from Mansar area this morning but her alleged kidnapper managed to flee from the spot.
According to reports, a Police party led by SHO Lakhanpur, Anuroop Sharma laid a naka on National Highway and arrested a duo of bovine smugglers namely Ghulam Nabi, son of Kamardeen and Meer Ali, son of Noor Ahmed both residents of Magar Khad, Lakhanpur while smuggling nine bovines through the area. A sharp edged weapon was seized from their possession.
Meanwhile, Lakhanpur police recovered a girl namely Pari Begum, daughter of Bashir Bakerwal of Dhana, Lakhanpur from Mansar area. The said girl was kidnapped by a youth on Feb 10, 2007 from Lakhanpur. Later she was handed over to her family members but, the alleged kidnapper managed to flee from the spot.
