Participants at High Court’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations felicitated

A rousing reception was accorded to all the students of Women College, Gandhi Nagar and Women College, Parade who participated in the diamond jubilee celebrations of Jammu and Kashmir High Court at Srinagar and won, applauds from the First citizen of India Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam for their excellent cultural display in the function. They were also felicitated on the occasion.
The function was held at Women College, Parade and Director Colleges, Prof. N D Wani was the special guest on the occasion. These students were felicitated and by Prof. Wani for their magnificent display at SKICC, Srinagar. Staff members who guided and accompanied the students were also felicitated for their contributions. Students also receive certificates for their participation at Srinagar. Principal, Women College, Gandhi Nagar Prof. Veena Gupta and Former Principal, Parade College, Prof. Rita Jitendra were also present on the occasion. Prof. Wani presented the trophy to the Principals of both the colleges, which he received at SKICC from President. The trophy was awarded to the students for the dance item depicting Kashmiri marriage scene, Dogri folk dance Kud and Bihu dance at SKICC.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Wani appreciated the efforts of the students of both the college for such a magnificent performance at SKICC which even enthralled Dr. Kalam. He appreciated the joint participation of both the colleges despite having healthy competition. He also inaugurated the newly renovated chemistry laboratory and Women Study Centre in the college. University Grants Commission (UGC) has sanctioned the grant of Rs. 4 lakh for the laboratory and Rs. 7 lakh for the study centre.
Principal, Parade College, Prof. Indira S Rathore while speaking emphasized on the need to groom the multifaceted talent of the students with the organizing of many other such functions. Prof. Rita Jitendra was also felicitated on the occasion. Research abstracts of Community Resources Management and Extension (CMRE) programme were also released by Prof. Wani on the occasion.
