| AKPSC express shock over CM’s statement | | | Jammu | Feb 13 An emergency meeting of the All Kashmiri Pandit Solidarity Conference (AKPSC) was held under the presidentship of O.N. Trisal, were the Committee members expressed a deep sense of disgust and dismay at the uncalled statement of the chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, to the effect that all Indian forces would be asked to leave the state if all politicians surrended their security cover voluntarily. The statement smacks of a deliberate endorsement of the political line adopted by PDP in recent years expressing the importance of the withdrawal of Indian forces as a pre-condition of the so called peace process between India and Pakistan and a lasting solution to the so called Kashmir issue.” According to press release, the Tribal said Azad and his friends in the PDP should know that the constitutional position of the State cannot be changed as response to the whimsicalities of self-seeking politicians who present different face once out of power. Sovereignty is not a negotiable commodity and the State of J&K is not the private property of the Muftis or the Azads, he said, and added that Kashmir is an integral part of India, the State is entitled to enjoy the amenities under constitutional provisions, and a security cover to people is not a piece of property that is to be surrended to win the appreciation of the anti-national elements who have wrecked the peaceful atmosphere of the State under the guidance of their masters across the borders. He said, by making such ridiculous statement men at the helm of affairs are making a mockery of their position as the representatives of the people who have elected them under the provisions of the constitution. Azad prominent leader of the Congress party owes an explanation to the Country as to what made him to make an offer that vitiates the very spirit of the constitution of the sovereign of the State of India. The members who took part in the executive meeting were: Rajini Bhat, M.L. Sopore, P.L. Aima, P.N. Dhar, J.N. Jotshi, R.L. Dhar, Avtar Krishen, Anita Kaul, Ashok Jalali, Shah Jee, Hira Lal and M.K. Bhan.
