| Grenades, cash recovered | | | Doda, Aug.01: On a specific tip off Police recovered some ammunition and cash worth lacs of rupees during a naka. This was stated in a press release issued here. The information received by the police, here, that some Over Ground Workers (OGWs) were going to deliver a consignment of cash and ammunition to militants. During checking, the Police, on intercepting a BOLERO with Regd. NO: 1167 JK06, found three persons traveling in suspicious conditions. The persons identified as, Riyaz Ahmed S/O Aziz Mohd., Zahid S/O Mohd. Amin both residents of Bandema Kishtwar and Zahoor Din S/O Mohd Sultan R/O Kilotran Gandoh (a teacher in a local Madrassa in Kishtwar), when checked, were found to carry cash worth Rs 1,90, 000.and three Chinese grenades. The preliminary investigations revealed that they were going to deliver it to militants of HM outfit. The OGWs along with their possessions were taken into custody. A case under FIR NO: 34/2006 u/s 212/216 RPC, 4/5 ESA was registered against them in Police station Thathri. The investigation is on and some vital clues are expected from them.
