Court frames corruption charges against accounts officer, patwari

Special Judge anti-corruption, Jammu JR Kotwal framed corruption charges against Yash Pal AAO, PHE Jammu, who was caught red-handed by the Vigilance Team on March 13, 2006 while accepting Rs 2000/- as illegal gratification.
In the order, the Special Judge Anti-corruption, Jammu said that on March 11, 2006 while accused was posted as AAO, PHE Sub-Division-I, Jammu by misuse of his official position as a public servant demanded and accepted Rs 2000/- as illegal gratification from one Buta Mal for releasing his payment against the supply of GI/CI and other lead material by him to the said division. On March 13, 2006 in the course of trap laid by the Vigilance Organization Jammu at PHE Office, BC Road, Jammu accused Yash Pal, AAO was caught red-handed.
That by obtaining the illegal gratification, the accused had misused of his official position and thereby obtained undue pecuniary advantage for himself which amounts of commission of offence u/s 5(2) r/w 5(1) (d) of J&K PC Act and directed the vigilance organization to lead the evidence on the next date of hearing.
In another corruption case, the Special Judge Anti-corruption, Jammu , JR Kotwal framed charges against Om Parkash, who was posted as patwari halqa, Pamote, Tehsil Udhampur, who demanded and accepted Rs 3000 as bribe from one Tej Ram, who applied for demarcating his land.
In the month of July 2006, the accused patwari in misuse of his official position demanded Rs 2000/- more as illegal gratification from the complainant Tej Ram for issuance of demarcation report to him which was settled to be paid on July 10, 2006. the complainant lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Organization.
The Vigilance Organization on July 10, 2006, laid a trap in the office of Patwari and caught him red-handed while accepting the bribe amount. The Court framed charges against accused u/s 5(2) r/w 5(1) (d) of J&K PC Act 2006 and directed the prosecution to lead the evidence on the next date of hearing. JNF
