JAMMU, February 15 Anil Bhattacharya, National Savings Commissioner for India concluded his two-day visit of Jammu today. During his stay here, Bhattacharya participated in a meeting which was presided over by B. B. Vyas , Commissioner-cum-Secretary Finance, J&K Government. Various marketing strategies were discussed with the Finance Secretary and Deputy Commissioner, Jammu to achieve the target of Rs. 750/- crores for mobilization of resources in J&K State for the Year 2006-07 under various Small Savings Schemes. Bhattacharya, who has been re-designated as Director, National Savings Institute, mentioned in the meeting that total cooperation would be extended by National Savings Institute to achieve the target of the State. He stated that District-wise strategic plans will be drawn by Sh. Gurcharan Singh, Regional Director, National Savings ,in consultation with M. Y .Dar, Director, Finance, J&K Government as well as the Deputy Commissioners of various districts. Gurcharan Singh, Regional Director, National Savings, informed that as against net collection target of Rs. 750/-crore fixed for the current financial year 2006-07, a net collection of Rs. 294/- crores has been achieved up-to December 2006. Bhattacharya along-with Gurcharan Singh, Regional Director, also called on Deepak Budki, IPS, Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle and discussed various problems faced by customers as well as agents at the Post Offices. Budki assured all possible cooperation from the Department of Posts for achieving the target. |
