‘66000 habitations getting road connectivity by 2009’
Rs.30 cr. being spent under state sector: Bandh

Minister of State for R & B, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh has said that 66802 habitations of the state would be provided road connectivity facilities by the year end 2009. He said that all the state habitations of the state would be getting road connectivity facility in a phased manner.
Mr. Bandh was accompanied by Minister of State for Power and Health Peer Mohammad Hussain.
Addressing a large public gathering at Nowabad in Narwal, Jammu today, Mr. Bandh said that Rs.30 crore are being spent for constructions of roads and bridges under state sector. He said that out of this Rs.15 crore would be utilized for the purpose in Kashmir division and Rs.15 crore in Jammu division. He said that for Jammu district Rs.5 crore have been earmarked under state sector for construction of roads and bridges for a current year.
Maintaining that the government is committed for equitable development of all the regions and sections of the State, Mr. Bandh hoped that the government would succeeded in its efforts to carry the people of the state all along for achieving its goal to make Jammu and Kashmir a prosperous and peaceful state. He said that without peace prosperity is impossible and added that peace is imperative for achieving every goal to make a nation strong and great.
Mr. Bandh said that a massive construction programme to improve road connectivity and other infrastructure in the state various centrally sponsored schemes like Bharat Nirman and PMGSY are under implementation in the state and adequate funds are available under NABARD, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA). The Minister said that funds under the schemes are utilized judiciously for timely completion of the road projects. He appealed the people to involve them selves in implementation and monitoring of the projects for ensuring the socio-economic transformation of all the regions of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Health and Power Peer Mohammad Hussain said that the peace initiatives set in place at present are yielding satisfactory results in restoration of peace in the state. He said that in the restoration of peace the state is a positive change at all friends.
Former Minister of State and MLA Mr. Ghulam Hassan Khan addressing the gathering said that the coalition government have taken remarkable steps for resolving the Kashmir issue and bringing peace and tranquility in the state. He said that to ensure early access of people of Poonch and Rajouri with the valley, the prestigious Mughal road be completed as early as possible.
Member Legislative Council, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjoura also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the policies and programmes of the present government. Mr. Hanjoura said that Roashni Act recently passed in the state Assembly has a too fold purpose of confirming proprietary rights to the occupants of state land and improving the agriculture production in the state.
Chief Eningeer, EM, RE, Jammu Mr. S. D. Pawar and Senior Officers and engineers of Power and Roads and Buildings were present on the occasion.
