| People offered prayers at Shiva temples | | | KATRA, FEBRUARY 16
On the occasion of Maha Shivratri today, thousands of devotees offered prayers to seek the blessing of Lord Shiva in the Shiva Temple at Katra, Panthal, Jahajjarkotli, Kakeryal, Sool, Lenhu, Dadura and Baba Dhansar.
Baba Dhansar which is about 11 km from Katra on Reasi road is an enchanting tourist spot where the main attraction is the naturally formed Shiv Lingam in side a small cave, carved out in a rock face. Water droplets keep on falling from the ceiling on the Shiv Lingam. Along side the cave a huge spring gushes out of the rock face and forms water body before cascading down from hill in a number of water falls and forming a limpid pool of water before tumbling further to merge with the stream.
Langers were also arranged at these places people from all walks of life participated.
Meanwhile, at Panthal Murti Satapna ceremony of Sai Baba was also held, in the newly constructed hall followed by Bhandara and earlier Havan was performed by the learned pandit. |
