| Inter Collegiate debate organised at JU’s Kathua Campus | | | Kathua | Feb 16 Kathua Campus of the University of Jammu (JU) in collaboration with the Academy of Business Science organised an Inter Collegiate Debate Competition on the topic “Ongoing Economic Reforms Have Ensured Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of India” at the Multi Purpose Hall of Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Kalibari, Kathua. Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Vice Chancellor was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, Mattoo thanked Trustee, Dogra Cultural and Educational Trust for showing rare generosity by providing accommodation to the University campus which ultimately made the campus functional well in time. He further stated that in the days to come the Kathua Campus will have its own land and building and will be a centre of excellence catering not only to the people of J&K but also to the people of adjoining states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Earlier, Prof. Mattoo formally inaugurated the debate competition by lighting the traditional lamp. Prof B C Sharma of Business School, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University introduced the topic of the debate and Prof R D Sharma, Rector, Kathua Campus formally welcomed the gathering. Shikha Charak of Govt College for Women Gandhi Nagar, Jammu won the competition while Magandeep Kour of Govt Degree College Kathua stood second. Meanwhile, Chanderdeep Sharma of Cosmic College of Education, Lakhanpur and Meera of Bhartiya College of Education, Udhampur stood third and fourth respectively.
