Medical employees join hands, constitute JKMEF

Medical Employees Federation Kashmir and Medical Employees Association Jammu have joined hands to form Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Front, for taking up the issues concerning employees of government medical education and health sector.
The decision to this effect was taken by the representatives of both the Medical Colleges that during the secretariat in Jammu the Presidium will remain at Jammu and during secretariat in Srinagar the presidium will remain at Srinagar under the heads simultaneously.
“Medical Employees Federation Kashmir and Medical Employees Association, Jammu, took a historical decision in the meetings, held under the Chairmanship of Baldev Raj Nargotra in the premise of the Govt. Medical College, Jammu today”, spokesman of newly formed JKMEF said, adding the representatives belongings to Govt. Medical College Srinagar, Govt. Medical College Jammu and associated Hospitals, including I.G. Govt. Dental College Jammu and Srinagar headed by Medical Employees Federation President Khurshid Ahmed Kuttey (Kashmir Division), Medical Employees Association Provincial President Pardeep Kumar Sharma.
The members desired to constitute a coordination committee between the both Medical College and its associated Hospitals including Dental Colleges for the betterment of the employees, He said.
Some of the problems being faced by the employees were also discussed in the meeting and few of the short-listed demands highlighted which include, Regularization of consolidated and Adhoc employees working from last 9 to 15 years respectively, Creation of posts in the departments, Filling up of posts lying vacant in the departments, Conducting D.P.C. regularly every 6 months, Risk allowance to all categories, Super specialised refresher course for para medical staff, Recruitment of fresh staff for better patient care.
The other leaders who, were present in the meeting are Farooq Qauser (President Medical employees Association, SMGS Hospital, Jammu) Ashok Kumar (President Medical Employees Association, GMC, Jammu) Devinder Rathore (Chairman MEA, GMC, Jammu) Bishan Verma (General Secretary MEA, GMC, Jammu) Chaman Lal Kandley (Acting President IG Govt. Dental College, Jammu) Ashok Manhas (President Lab. Tech. Association) Naresh Kumar (President X-ray Tech. Association) Kushal Kumar (President Nursing Staff Association), Gulzar Ahmed Bandey, Mohd. Amin, Bashir Ahmed Dar, Ab. Rashid Bhat, Mohd. Altaf Handoo, Iftekhar Ahmed, Farooq Bhat, Ab. Ahmed, Showket Ahmed, Nisar Ahmed and Shabir Ahmed.
It was resolved that both the organizations will function sincerely unitedly under the banner of "Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Front".
