| Govt sanctions additional transformer for Khiram | | ET IMpact | |

Anantnag, Dec 18: Taking cognizance of the Early Times report on Khiram receiving Station, the Chief Minister has directed the Power Development Department to sanction additional transformer for receiving station Khiram having capacity of 6.3MVA.
The total capacity of the receiving station will be 12.6MVA after the installation of additional 6.3MVA. This morning a group of officials visited the Station and on ground started execution of the work.
Locals, who have earlier locked down receiving station twice in this month expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for showing seriousness in resolving the problems faced by the locals from past three consecutive years. Ab Hamid Bhat a local resident said, "We are very much thankful to Chief Minister who sanctioned amount for transformer and directed department to install it on priority base" adding that the efforts of MLC Bashir Ahmad Veeri, in solving our problems are appreciated.
The locals also thanked Early Times for highlighting their problems. "We are very much thankful to Early Times for supporting our genuine demand", they said.
Bashir Ahmad Veeri, who meat Chief Minister this morning said, "I met Chief Minister this morning and he assured me that in next 12 days additional transformer having capacity of 6.3MVA will be made functional in the station." Locals urged the Government especially Power Development Department to speed up the execution of work so that common masses get rid from the power crises faced by them. |
