| SADBHAVANA CULTURAL PROGRAMME held | | | Jammu, 16 February A Sadbhavana cultural programme was organised by Barasingha Battalion under the aegis of Krishna Ghati Brigade at Mendhar. A total of seven schools and colleges – namely Degree College, Mendhar, Boys Higher Secondary School, Mendhar, Higher Secondary School, Mandkote, Girls Higher Secondary School, Mendhar, St Francis High School, Mendhar, Iqbal Academy, Bhatidar entertained the austere gathering with an array of programmes. For the first time the people of this region got an opportunity to witness a magic show conducted by Mr Sudheer and his team of magicians who had travelled all the way from Kerala for this event. Brigadier Gurdeep Singh, Commander Krishna Ghati Brigade and many civil dignitaries of Mendhar Tehsil graced the occasion.
The populace of this region thanked Barasingha Battalion for enlightening their lives through such a mega event and the students were extremely happy on being provided with an opportunity to display their talents, said a PIB (Defence Wing) release.
The Commander, addressing the gathering, praised all the participants,. He also presented a cheque of Rupees one lac and fifty thousand to Mr Mohd Javed of Chirangani village, who had lost his leg in a mine blast.
