| Symposium on plant pathology from today | | | early times report JAMMU, Dec 18: Two days national symposium on Emerging Trends in Plant Pathology and North Zone meet is being organized by Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology of Jammu at its main campus at Chatha in collaboration with Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology (Udaipur, Rajasthan) from December 19. Dr. B. L. Jalali, eminent plant pathologist of international repute shall be chief guest in the symposium. Eminent scientists from different institutes of the country shall converge in Jammu to deliberate on various aspects of diseases of agricultural, crops, fruits, vegetables and flower crops, eco-friendly management through bio-pesticides and mushroom cultivation, besides deliberating on other important issues in plant diseases such as trends in plant diseases and scientific advances in their management, molecular diagnostics and biotechnology, microbial diversity and its utilization, epidemiology and crop losers. The conference will also focus on regulatory and policy issues pertaining to plant diseases so as to devise farmer friendly strategies to reduce crop losses and enhance quality and quantity of agricultural produce. |
