| Militant killed at Doda, huge cache recovered from his possession | | | JAMMU AUGUST 1
A militant was killed in an encounter at Doba near Maidan last night while the forces recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the possession of the slain militant. The identification of the slain militant has not been ascertained so far.
A Defence spokesman said that based on input from a local joint column, the security forces launched a search operation in Doba, two and a half KMs South- East of Maidan, last evening. In encounter that ensued between the forces and the militants, one militant was eliminated.
The spokesman said that one AK rifle, one 9 mm Pistol, one hand grenade, three AK 47 magazines,353 rounds of rifle ammunition of different types, one pistol magazine, three UBGL grenades, three Chinese grenades, one Binocular, one rucksack and RS Kenwood were recovered from the possession of the slain militant.
