| India to operate Thar Express train to Pakistan for six months | | | Mirpurkhas (Pakistan) | Feb 16 The Thar Express train will arrive at Zero Point Railway Station, in Mirpurkhas, from India tomorrow and it will operate on the Indian-managed route for the next six months, announced Pakistan's Divisional Superintendent Railway Karachi Mir Mohammad Khaskheli here last evening.
He said that a PC-1 has been forwarded to the federal government, costing Rs 500 million, for approval of construction of a modern building at any one railway station Zero Point or Khokhrapar, for providing further facilities to the passengers.
He said this at railway station Mirpurkhas after his visit to the railway track between Mirpurkhas and Zero Point railway stations, reported The News.
Khaskheli further said the track between Mirpurkhas and Zero Point was in better condition and the journey time of three-and-a-half hours of Thar Express between Mirpurkhas and Zero Point railway stations is being reduced to two hours.
He further said Mirpurkhas reservation office was being connected online by providing modern computers due to which the passengers would be able to get their reservations conveniently.
